Twilight Tuesday had 24 riders compete for 26k and saw Happy Inness, off limit, greet the flag for a win. Christy Rilen, Ian Baker, Rob Auld and newcomer Lincoln Sullivan (all off 8min) filled the next 4 places with Michael Thomson, Dan Johnson, Finbar O’Sullivan and Glenn Christensen (all off 2.30min) next with Will Eager (5mins) in 10th. Welcome to Linc and a return from a break to Dan. Brodie Sims was fastest in 33.37mins at 44.4kph Av.
The junior racing was a small field of 3 riders, with Henry Nash finishing 1st, Harry Thompson 2nd and fastest time, and Finnegan Hull 3rd.
Saturday had 25 riders take on the 47k Northwood loop. The generous mark of 7mins saw that group clean up in very trying conditions. Will Eager took his maiden win and keeps improving each week Matt Grealy(7min) came in 2nd, James Hender(7min) 3rd, Happy Inness (17min) 4th, Bret Bender(13min) 5th, Shayne Kirby (scr.) 6th and fastest in 1.09.44 (40.5kph Av.), Glenn VC Jacobs(7min) 7th, John Hasouras(13min) 8th, Craig Harvey(2.30min) 9th, Darryl O’Keefe (2.30min) 10th. On Sunday the 5th SBCC was proudly represented again at the Coburg Crits.
Our lads Sayne Kirby, A grade, and Michael Thompson B grade, both with the victory and achieving overall winners of the Cyclehouse Crit Series. Well done!!
